On a cruise ship - no problem

In the coming holiday season, border guards simplified the regime of crossing the borders of Ukraine. Now tourists who arrive on cruise ships will be checked only at the ports of arrival and departure.

Dmitry Purgin (State Border Service of Ukraine): «The number of documents for crossing the state border has been reduced, for example, tourists from a passenger ship are exempted from the clearance procedure if they follow the internal waters of Ukraine, that is, the cruise liner enters the first port and is registered at the entrance to it. At the last port — on departure from Ukraine. In other ports tourists can freely move up to 48 hours».

Border guards assure that, after verification, foreign ships will have the right to walk freely in the waters of Ukraine and enter any port that is open to foreign ships. The purpose of the innovation — to simplify cruise liners, passenger ships and yachts the procedure of crossing the border and attract more tourists to Ukraine. According to the border service for the past holiday season in Crimea, visited about two thousand cruise ships and private yachts.
