The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in the Faroe Islands (MRCC Tórshavn) provides and monitors all the necessary conditions for operations in the Faroe Islands region. The area of responsibility is about 200 nautical miles from the coastline to the center line between the countries. The organization coordinates the activities of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service (SAR) in the Faroe Islands, under the authority of the Ministry of Fisheries.
For successful work between several countries and international organizations (Atlantic Helicopters, Joint Arctic Command), cooperation was concluded to provide resources for rescue at sea.
