The only representative of the Jianghu 4-class (Type 053H1Q) is the frigate Siping (519), served with the North Sea Fleet.
The modernization of this ship mainly concerned the aft armament in order to equip a helipad for the helicopter Harbin Z-9 helicopter. In addition, the frigate received armed with one SY-1 SSM dual-box launcher, and a compact French-made 100mm gun.
She was launched on 29 September 1985 at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai and commissioned on 24 December 1985.
Frigate Siping was transferred to Dalian Naval Academy as a training ship and renamed Lushun on 28 July 2010.
