The cruise industry continues to inexorably develop, and the coming year will be marked by new descents on the water of modern ships and vessels.
Cruise company Crystal Cruises has decided to expand the range of sea and river cruises and has signed a contract for the construction of new cruise ships, which will be delivered before 2019.
River cruises in Europe are becoming increasingly popular, and the fleet of Crystal Cruises will soon be replenished with four luxury river vessels of the Rhine class. New motor ships will offer exclusive river walks around the countries of Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands on the rivers Rhine, Main, Danube and Moselle. Passengers will be offered not only personal butler services and gourmet restaurants, but also the most numerous personnel on inland navigation vessels.
The construction of high-tech river vessels Crystal Bach, Crystal Mahler, Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel is held at the MV WERFTEN shipyard. All motor ships are already under construction and in the summer of 2017 the first two, and then in 2018 two more will set new standards in the river cruise market.
The first 15-day cruise on the Crystal Bach ship starts from Amsterdam on June 18, 2017. The route will run through Frankfurt and Basel. In addition, it can last for the Swiss cities of Antwerp and Nijmegen.
The first voyage of the ship Crystal Mahler will begin on August 29, 2017. The 16-day cruise will also debut from Amsterdam and will run to Budapest. In a year, in 2018, two more cruise river vessels will join them, plying along the same routes.
River Cruise Ship Rhine-class
Due to the rapidly developing cruise industry in Asia, and a limited number of shipyards capable of building large cruise ships, the Hong Kong-based Genting Group, which owns the well-known brands: Crystal Cruises, Star Cruises and Dream Cruises, has decided to invest in European shipbuilding, in particular the shipyard MV Werften. Within the next five years the German company will supply ten vessels of various types.
Among them, four luxury ships for the company Crystal Cruises described above.
The cruise liner of the Global-class
Soon, at the shipyards MV Werften will be laid one of the world's largest cruise ships of Class Global with a displacement of 201 thousand tons and a length of 340 m. Production of two passenger ships will begin in late 2017, and transfer to the owner — the company Star Cruises — is scheduled for 2020 and 2021. New ships will be the largest ever built at the shipyards of MV Werften.
Expedition mega-yacht of ice class Crystal Endeavor
The German shipyard will also produce three expedition mega-yachts, such as the Crystal Endeavor of the ice class PC6. New vessels of 20 thousand tons displacement will become the world's largest expedition yachts designed for sea voyages both in the Arctic, Antarctic, and tropical latitudes. Passenger ships will be transferred to the owner of Crystal Cruises in 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Cruise ship Crystal Exclusive
The list closes with a beautiful name Crystal Exclusive, displacement of 117,000 tons and calculated for 1000 fans of sea cruises. The transfer is expected in 2019.
