Movable elements

Movable elements

The boat project, called ‘Volitan’ (‘Flying Fish’), uses wind and solar energy, and is controlled by a special on-board computer.

The innovation of this concept lies in the fact that the boat is equipped with ‘rigid’ sails. With their help, the boat receives energy from the wind and sun, which is stored in batteries. A computer automatically determines the optimal source of energy. The ‘sails’ are made movable, and the engines are located on separate wings on the sides to achieve maximum manoeuvrability and calmly handle any surprises from the water. The design was created by the Turkish studio Designnobis.
